【摘要】:Thistestmethoddeterminestheeffectivenessofarcprotectiveblanketsinsuprressingthecombinedeffectsofanarcflashandarcblast.Thearcexposureenergyisproducedfromcontrolledphase-to-groundarcfault.Theresultingarcflashandblastenergyareintentionallydirectedontothetestspecimentosimulateworstcaseconditions.Testresultswilldescribethemaximumarccurrentandproductofarccurrentandcyclesatwhichtestspecimensblocktheenergywithoutbreakopen,abilitytoself-extinguishafterflaming,afterflametimeandthedetectionofmechanicalattachmentfailuresduringtesting.Mechanicalattachmentfailureandafterflametimeareobtainedfromvisualobservationsandvideorecordingaftereacharcexposure.Thistestmethodmaintainsthearcprotectiveblanketinaverticalpositionanddoesnotinvolvemovementexceptthatresultingfromthearcexposure.Inthistestmethod,testspecimensareexposedatthreearccurrentlevelstodeterminethetestspecimenx2019;sperformance.Note28212;Inexperimentaltesting,someblanketsincreaseinprotection(invalueofkA*cyclestocausebreakopen)asthearccurrentincreasesandsomedecreaseasshowninFig.1.Thistestmethodisdesignedtorecognizethisbehaviorandtospecifytestingovertherangeofarccurrentlevelsincludinglowerlevelsof5kAor10kA,orboth.Thistestmethodspecifiesastandardsetofexposureconditions.Differentexposureconditionsmayproducedifferentresults.Note38212;Inadditiontothestandardsetofexposureconditions,itispermittedtotestusingotherconditionsrepresentativeoftheexpectedhazard,reportedallnon-standardtestconditionsthatareused.FIG.1ExampleofPerformanceTrendforDifferentBlankets1.1Thistestmethodisusedtoevaluatetheabilityofthearcprotectiveblanketstowithstandtheeffectsofarcflashandarcblastinaconfigurationinwhichtheblanketishungoranchorednearenergizedequipment.Specifically,thistestmethodisusedtodeterminethearcprotectiveblanketx2019;s(1)resistancetobreakopen,(2)mechanicalstrength,and(3)abilitytoself-extinguishflamesfollowingacontrolledarcexposure.1.2Thismethodisusedtodeterminetheperformanceofarcprotectiveblanketsintermsof:maximumarccurrentlevelexpressedinkAandBTP(BTP)expressedastheproductofarccurrentinkAandarcdurationinnumberofcyclestocausebreakopen(kA*cycles).Cyclesareonthebasisof60Hz.1.3Blankettestspecimensusedinthistestmethodaretestsizeblanketsof152x00B1;5cm(60x00B1;2in.)by122x00B1;5cm(48x00B1;2in.).Thetestspecimensizeisfortestingpurposesonly.Commerciallyavailablearcprotectiveblanketseitherlargerorsmallerthanthetestspecimensizearecoveredbythisstandard.1.4Thearcprotectiveblanketsdescribedinthistestmethodaremadeofflame-resistantmaterialsandareavailableinvaryingsizesandconfigurationsbasedontheapplication.1.5Thistestmethodshallbeusedtomeasureanddescribethepropertiesofmaterials,products,orassembliesinresponsetoincidentthermal(convectiveandradiant)andpressureenergiesgeneratedbyanelectricarcundercontrolledlaboratoryconditions.1......
