【摘要】:Thesetestmethodsforanalysiscovergreasesoftheconventionaltype,whichconsistessentiallyofpetroleumoilandsoap.Theconstituentsthatcanbedeterminedaresoap,unsaponifiablematter(petroleumoil,andsoforth),water,freealkalinity,freefattyacid,fat,glycerin,andinsolubles.Note1-Anyofthetestmethodsdescribedhereinarebestusedbyanexperiencedgreaseanalystwhomayalsobeabletomakeappropriateadaptationsofthetechniquesasoccasionrequires.AsupplementarytestmethodisprovidedinAppencixX1.Thistestmethodisintendedprimarilyforapplicationtogreasescontainingthickenersthatareessentiallyinsolubleinn-hexane,andtogreasesthatcannotbeanalyzedbyconventionalmethodsbecauseofthepresenceofsuchconstituentsasnonpetroleumfluidsornonsoap-typethickeners,orboth.Insomecases,theseconstituentscanreactwithstrongacidoralkalinesolutions.Thesetestmethodsappearinthefollowingorder:Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpractices,anddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.
